Enrollment Process

1) Pay Registration $35 and Week 1 $70 Dues Online for each child. This reserves their place(s).

2) Complete 2018.AfterSchoolCare.pdf and ChildPre-Admission3PagePacket.pdf.

Program Overview

Up a Creek’s After School Adventures (After School Care) is a unique After School Program at our Hampton Cove location in Huntsville, Alabama. Our primary focus is on the safety, well-being, and happiness of each child. We seek to nurture their inquisitive personalities, stimulate their imaginations with our creative play and work environments, and give kids an outlet to by physically active and challenged daily. We support each child in our care academically by providing daily homework and reading assistance. We strive to provide an outstanding, safe, reliable service to each child and their family.

Program Availability

This program is now available to Pre-K through 5th grade Goldsmith-Schiffman Elementary students and Kindergarten through 5th grade Hampton Cove Elementary students.  We do accept a small number of Hampton Cove Middle School students who are returning Up-a-Creekers or siblings of currently enrolled elementary-aged participants.


Transportation from school in our newer model Up a Creek vans or shuttle is included.  Every Up a Creek vehicle is fully insured and equipped with rear air-conditioning, heat, as well as over-the-shoulder seatbelts (vans) or lapbelts and highback seats (shuttle) providing comfort and safety during the ride.


Upon arrival, children must wash their hands, use the restroom if needed, and settle in for 45-60 minutes of quiet homework/reading time and homework assistance. Free WIFI is throughout the center. A working snack is provided during homework time.  At 4:00p.m., we put the books and homework away and start to play! We have indoor and outdoor play spaces with big fun inflatables, a wooden treehouse, and other games.  In 2016 we expanded our outdoor play area with a new state-of-the-art play center. Wednesdays and Fridays, weather permitting, we go to the nature preserve for a great time outside on the natural playground.

Staffing Requirements

Our caring and energetic staff is certified in CPR, AED, and Pediatric First Aid by the American Heart Association. Each staff member 19 years and older has been digitally finger-printed, cleared against the National Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, undergone an FBI background check, and obtained a negative TB-test from a physician’s office. Our staff also completes various continuing education courses and certifications throughout the year.


Care is provided Monday-Friday at a rate of $70 per week per child.  We do not offer a daily or drop-in rate.


There are no charges during school holidays; including, but not limited to Spring Break, Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, and Christmas Break.  Alternate day camps are available.


A two-week written notice is required to withdraw your child from the program.

Behavior Policy

For the well-being of all participants, Up a Creek maintains a strict behavior policy. Disruptive, rude, disrespectful, and aggressive behavior is not tolerated. Dismissal is at the discretion of the Program Director.
